The evening of the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials including Sha’Carri and Ryan Crouser, Athing Mu and more vying to make it onto the Olympic team for 2024’s Paris Olympic Games.

On the second night of the 2024 U.S. Olympic Track and Field Team Trials, Sha’Carri Richardson and Ryan Crouser punched their tickets to Paris. Both stars are officially bound for the Olympic Games.

Night two saw the finals in the women’s 100m race, men’s shot put the triple jump for women, as well as the decathlon for men at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

Men’s 100m

The men’s 100m race opened with heat races. The race featured Noah LylesKenny BednarekChristian Colemanand others.

At his final heat the defending world champion Lyles was victorious his heat in 9.92 seconds to earn his place in the semifinals alongside Bednarek who finished second with 10.00.

Coleman also was astonished in the crowd at Hayward Field, logging the second-fastest race of the night (9.99) in order to progress to the semifinals. Coleman had previously won the world championship in the 100m, but was unable to compete at the Tokyo Olympics due to location violations.

A two-time Olympic gold medalist Ryan Crouserofficially confirmed his place at Paris and is hoping for becoming the very first person ever to earn three consecutive gold medals for shot put. Crouser took the shot put final by throwing a distance of 22.84m to win by a narrow margin over Joe Kovacsand Payton Otterdahl who will be part of the Olympic team in Paris.

Kovacs is set to compete in the third Olympics after winning silver medals at two of them, at the Rio as well as the Tokyo Games. Otterdahl is a part of Kovacs’s 2nd Olympic team.
