Federal government, banks shut on Juneteenth
Joe Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act on the 17th of June 2021 and declared Juneteenth an official holiday of the United States.

The majority of driver license offices will close on June 13th, also.
Can mail be delivered on June 19th?
It was announced that the United States Postal Service confirmed that its branches would be shut on June 15th.
“U.S. Postal Service retail locations will be closed, and there will be no regular mail delivery, except for holiday premium Priority Mail Express, on Wednesday, June 19, in observance of the Juneteenth holiday,” according to the press release issued by USPS. “Customers are still able to order stamps, shipping supplies, print shipping labels, and request package pickups 24/7, including holidays, online.”
Do I need to work on the 13th of June?
The quick answer is most likely, no. Only emergency personnel and first responders are allowed to work on the 19th of June.
The majority of restaurants and retail stores are expected to remain operating, so if you work in these fields there is a good chance that you will be in the office on Juneteenth.
Locally, non-essential employees of local administration branches will be on leave until Juneteenth. This is also the case for most people employed in public education for a 12-month period.
Private companies and industries create their own holiday calendars, and could or might not celebrate Juneteenth as a day of rest.
