Brandon Aiyuk , the star wide receiver of the San Francisco 49ers , wants to stay with the team for the remainder of the season despite the contract dispute.

Aiyuk, who is entering the final year on his rookie contract, told TMZ Sport at the Los Angeles International Airport on Friday that he would be ready to play for the 49ers even though there had not been an agreement on a new extension.

“For sure,” Aiyuk told TMZ Sports. “For sure!

Aiyuk’s TikTok post in this month has added intrigue to his contract situation with the 49ers.

Aiyuk is seen on the video FaceTime-ing with Washington commanders quarterback Jayden. Daniels.

Aiyuk tells Daniels: “They said they didn’t want to see you again.”

Daniels responds, “That’s it?”

Aiyuk swears, prompting Daniels to shout “My Boy!”

Aiyuk wrote: “I’m not crying, but I’m laughing.” In the caption.

Aiyuk’s statement was not clear. He didn’t make it clear whether he meant that the 49ers don’t want him this season or if they won’t want him at all after the season. Is it because the 49ers won’t give him a lucrative new contract?

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler previously reported that the 49ers had been in contact with Aiyuk but “the talks have stalled a bit.”

Aiyuk is entering the final year of his rookie contract. Aiyuk is expected to contribute $14.124 million towards the salary cap in 2024. He just completed a season where he caught 75 passes, gained 1,342 yard and scored seven touchdowns.

The team could fine him more than $100,000 for boycotting their minicamp.

Deebo Samuel, 49ers wide-receiver, stated at the 49ers minicamp that he was in regular contact with Aiyuk throughout the offseason, and offered to help when needed. Samuel signed a contract extension for the 49ers, which will last until 2022. Aiyuk advised him to be patient and to not rush into signing the contract until he was satisfied with the deal.
