Sacramento Kings appear to be considered to be the leading contenders to purchase NBA player DeMar DeRozan.
A report by the ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported the Kings and Chicago Bulls are discussing a trade that could bring the six-time All-Star in addition to the three-time All NBA selection to Sacramento.
The Kings hope to bring a superstar player into the De’Aaron Fox core as well as Domantas Sabonis Keegan Murray, Keegan Malik Monk. The Kings are also involved in negotiations for trades that are being held with Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen, New Orleans Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram and Washington Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma, but DeRozan’s name has been at top of the list over the past couple of days.
DeRozan 34. DeRozan is believed to be looking for a salary of $25 million a year as an open-ended free agent with no limitations after his last three seasons at Chicago. The Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs have also been cited as potential rivals for DeRozan. However, Wojnarowski has said that Sacramento may be the safest choice.

Chicago although they will aid DeMar DeRozan to earn more than a mid-level exemption in an industry that does not have the capacity for caps, they’re not ready to purchase contracts or contracts that have significant worth. They’ll need another team to transfer more salary to, however these discussions are still ongoing. There are options for DeMar DeRozan but I think Sacramento at present is the team worth keeping an eye on when the moratorium expires within of two weeks. “
DeRozan is the Compton native who was featured in Kendrick Lamar’s latest “Not Like Us” video is now 15 years old. NBA Veteran who selected by USC as the No. 9 during his draft in 2009. He played nine seasons for the Toronto Raptors Toronto Raptors and three years playing for the San Antonio Spurs before going to Chicago.
DeRozan was named an All-NBA 3rd Team selection in 2017 before he was awarded the All-NBA Second Team distinction in 2022 and the year 2018. He achieved a career high 27.9 points, taking 50.4 percentage from field. DeRozan also posted an all-time record 35.2 percent from the 3-point line in 2021-2022.
DeRozan’s height is 6’6 inches and 220lbs, with a length of wingspan 6-9. He played most of his time in the role of a shooter in early in his professional career. He then transitioning into a smaller forward over the period that lasted five years.
DeRozan is widely regarded as one of the NBA’s best middle-range scorers. He is a pro 29.6 percent 3 point shooter. He isn’t in a position to meet Sacramento’s requirements in terms of size, length and defense, but the Kings also have a shot maker who is top-quality, as are Fox who was named Clutch’s Player Of The Year in 2023.
