Clark creates history with an encounter With Mercury

The Indiana Fever’s game on Friday contest with The Phoenix Mercury brought flurries of offense, and with that, a little bit of history for the team.
Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston became the only two players have ever Fever history to record 20-point double doubles in that same match. But, that wasn’t the only thing that contributed to Clark’s appearances in Fever Records on Friday. Seven assists she scored during the first quarter set records for the team and she holds the Fever record for assists within one time frame (seven) and assists in the same game (13).
In her first 24 games, Clark has tied her own record for assists to a team at least four times.
“It’s so fun, just getting to pick apart the defense,” Clark said. “Especially when you’re stopped on defense and must make move. I’m simply excited I’m honest, the majority of my turnovers stem from the source they’re from…just striving to be a thrilling basketball player during the transition. “
3 of the Indiana All-Stars had double-digit scoring figures in the first quarter of the contest, helping into the Fever by 20 points and taking an early lead at halftime. Kelsey Mitchell led with 17 points in the opening half. Clark came in second with 15points, while Boston scored 10 points in the 10. The synergy between the players on offense was evident by the manner in which seven of Clark’s first nine half dimes went to the hands of Boston and Mitchell’s.
Three All-Stars took the game with each scoring 20 points. Mitchell’s 28 was the top scorer of Indiana with Clark scoring 21 while Boston scored 20. Boston was the highest scorer in Indiana rebounding, scoring 13 assists, and the 13 assists of Clark were most efficient of the passing of Fever.
“I think as a unit we’re starting to play faster,” Clark said. “…We’re making the more rapid transitions. We’re having a number of successes. “She just does what she does,” coach Christie Sides said of Clark’s game. “She’s capable of being able to draw defenders in She’s got a keen sense of her teammates and their positions and moving…That’s the kind of thing she can do. “
