Australian heavyweight Tai Tuivasa has sunk to his fifth straight loss after he was defeated by Jairzinho Rozenstruik in a two-way decision in UFC 305 in Perth however one judge’s scorecard made the spotlight for all wrong reasons.
Tuivasa was beaten by the Australian in round two of the Sunday’s fight at the sold-out RAC Arena but the judge Howie Booth left fans astonished and angry when he rated the three-round fight 30-27 in favor of the Australian.
The two other judges gave the fight 30-27 and 29-28 to Rozenstruik and Rozenstruik, which means Tuivasa hasn’t had a taste of victory in the octagon since Feb. 2022.
Booth was later removed from the panel of judges for another card fight, Steve Erceg vs Kai Kara-France.
Social media was awash with fans when that the scores had been read.
“30-27 in the case of Tai Tuivasa might be one of the worst scorecards recorded. The judge should be fired immediately. and he wrote a note.
30-27 in favor of Tai What? The judge Howie Booth must be removed from the bench and reprimanded!’ Another added.
MMA Reporter Mike Bohn wrote, ’30-27 scorecard for Tai Tuivasa. This is absolutely insane.’
It was clear to fans of fights it was obvious to fight fans that Tai Tuivasa (left) lost his UFC 305 bout with Jairzinho Rozenstruik (right) However, one judge saw it different… as well. He even lost his job due to it.
Tuivasa (right) is hammered by the second time, but was unable to score a knockout in the final round.
A lot of fans agreed with the entire message after the judge Howie Booth decided to award the fight to Tuivasa 30 – 27
Another fan of Booth’s performance ‘could be the worst scorecard ever recorded in all time in the history of the UFC’.
To try to stop the devastation, Tuivasa had flown to Dubai to prepare for his upcoming fight. He hoped that the change in scenery could allow him to stay away from distractions such as his family and the local pub.
The first round was a calm affair, with neither could land any powerful blows.
The second half of the game exploded into life with only two minutes remaining when Rozenstruik took advantage of Tuivasa’s injury to his leg when striking.
Rozenstruik struck a number of brutal blows, leaving Tuivasa bleeding and fighting for her life however, the Australian was able to return the blows several times to make sure that he made it to the sound of the bell.
The Australian’s Stewart Nicoll looked lifeless on the mat (pictured) during the UFC 305 undercard when he was knocked unconscious by the wrestler Jesus Aguilar
Aguilar (left) demonstrated excellent sportsmanship when he played with Nicoll’s legs to allow blood flowing towards his scalp during the harrowing scenes following his win.
Tuivasa took a few more vicious punches in the third round after which his final attack in a bid to get a knockout came up short of the mark.
There was a gruesome moment during a fight on the undercard, when Australian Stewart Nicoll was left unconscious after being knocked down in the first round by Jesus Aguilar in the first round.
The Mexican’s guillotine choking technique was extremely effective, but the judge was not aware of how hard the Aussie was suffering until Aguilar alerted him.
‘He’s out, he’s sleeping!’ was the message from American commentators when Aguilar left Nicoll who appeared dead lying on the ground of the Octagon.
Aguilar displayed great sportsmanship to grab the legs of his opponent and then start moving them around to draw blood back to his head.
Nicoll soon recovered, and was then able to stand up and be awed his opponent for winning before leaving the Octagon.
