Sky rookie Angel Reese’s season is ended with a wrist injuries
Angel Reese, whose historic rookie season saw her top in the WNBA in double-doubles, is out for the remainder of the season due to an injury to her wrist.

Angel Reese ‘s amazing debut season with the Chicago Sky has ended due to a wrist injury that ended his season on Friday in the Los Angeles Sparks .
“What a year,” Reese posted on social media on Saturday. “I never would have thought that the last bucket from my debut season to be a 3, but maybe it was God telling me to that they should give them a taste of what they’ll see more of next lol.
“I’m overwhelmed with emotion as I am dealing with an injury that will end my season and also with immense satisfaction for the next. Although this is God’s timing, not mine I’m finally being able to take an emotional and physical break. God gives the toughest battles to his most powerful soldier.'”
Reese at the number. 7 pick in the 2024 draft and a star national champion at LSU has made an impact during her first year with the WNBA. She scored 26 double-doubles, the second highest number in a single year in WNBA history. She also earlier this summer, she set the WNBA record by having the record of 15 double-doubles in a row.
Reese’s averages for the final season included 13.6 scores, 13.1 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game.
Reese’s outstanding performance made her an All-Star selection She as well as Caitlin Clark -her college rival and primary competitor on the field in the rookie of Year race -were the first rookies to receive All-Star recognition since 2014. Reese was Chicago’s fourth rookie All-Star and the first since 2013.
As the Sky prepares for their match on Sunday in the Dallas Wings’ game Dallas Wings, Reese was first in the injury report as a questionable player.

The Sky (12-22) are in eighth place in the standings, and are looking to secure the eighth spot and last one for the WNBA playoffs. But the second portion of their season has been a tumultuous one. They’re 2-8, which is the second-worst mark for the league during the last two seasons, and have been without their top scorer Chennedy Carter during five games. The Sky ended an eight-game losing streak Friday, when they faced the Sparks in the first game of Carter’s since August. 25.
