A former New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola is joining this season’s “Dancing with the Stars” cast.
Amendola was a winner of two Super Bowls and was a player in the third for five seasons at New England He was featured in the Wednesday edition of “Good Morning America” as one of the stars competing to win the Mirrorball Trophy.
Amendola displayed his moves in the end zone that he plans to show on the dance floor. He also received special messages from the former teammates Rob Gronkowski.
“You bring that ‘Dola’ playoff energy to the dance floor you will sure dominate, kid. The whole package. You’ve got the looks, you’ve got the feet and the high motor, buddy,” Gronkowski declared. “I will be watching and cheering you on, ‘Dola.’ Let’s go!”
Amendola quit the Patriots following the 2017 season, becoming an unrestricted free agent and signed an two-year, $12 million deal to the Miami Dolphins before he was released in the year 2019.
Amendola was also featured as a character in her role in the Apple TV+ docuseries “The Dynasty.”
Amendola is joined by “Bachelorette” Jenn Tran and Jenn Tran and Team USA gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik the Worcester native who has won 2 bronze medals in the Paris Olympics on the current season of the show that premieres on September. 17. ABC.
