The Department of Justice announced Friday that adult film star Justin Heath Smith, also known as Austin Wolf, was arrested and accused of possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) online.

An FBI Agent stated in a Complaint that Smith, 43, of New York City, sent and received hundreds of videos depicting child abuse through Telegram. The DOJ said that some videos showed infants sexually assaulted.

Smith has a lot of fans in the LGBTQ adult movie industry. His TikTok collaborations with other popular creators have earned him a good reputation.

If convicted, Smith could be sentenced to a maximum of 20 years for receiving and distributing child pornography as well as 10 years for possessing it.

Smith didn’t respond to a request for comment immediately.

The complaint claims that in March, Smith’s anonymous Telegram account exchanged CSAM with an account that was seized and searched by the FBI. An undercover FBI agent then began to message Smith’s Telegram account. Smith revealed his personal details.

Smith’s Telegram account, linked to his site, had more than 12,000 subscribers.

According to the complaint, the FBI raided Smith’s Manhattan apartment in the month following and discovered a SD Card containing CSAM.

I want to make it clear that those who circulate images of child sexual abuse prey upon the most vulnerable in our society. James Smith, FBI Assistant director in charge, stated that each picture was a crime and left scarring on innocent victims.

Telegram is known for its freewheeling online environment, in which previously prohibited content can be broadcasted and traded without much oversight.

Telegram will monitor broadcasting channels for illegal content. Telegram monitors messages between users, but not those sent through their website.
