California celebrity Rebecca Grossman sentenced to 15 to life for murdering 2 kids crossing the street

A wealthy California woman who co-founded a burn center foundation in the Los Angeles area was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison Monday for the hit-and-run killings of two children while they were in a crosswalk more than three years ago.

Rebecca Grossman was speeding when she slammed into killing Mark Iskander, 11, and Jacob, his brother Jacob 8 when they were walking across a crosswalk in the city of Los Angeles located in Westlake Village on Sept. 29 in 2020.

“The loss of 2 innocent deaths has been devastating for their family and the community. Ms. Grossman’s indifference to humanity’s life serves as a painful warning of the devastating consequences of reckless behavior behind the road,” Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon said in an announcement.

A jury was found guilty of Grossman during February for two charges of second degree murder and two charges of vehicular murder with gross negligence, and one count of hit and run driving that resulted in the death of a victim.

Grossman Now 60, she was speeding in front of a car that was driven by her lover at the time who was a ex- Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Scott Erickson who fatally struck the boys, authorities have stated. Erickson was not indicted.

Prosecutors wanted an indictment of 34 years or more.

The mother of the boys, Nancy Iskander, told Grossman in the sentencing on Monday that she’s not shown any remorse for the murder of her two sons, NBC Los Angeles said..

In a letter addressed to the Judge, Grossman said that “I am not a murderer” and “as God is my witness, I did not see anyone or anything in the road,” the station said. “I swear to you, I would have driven my car into a tree to avoid hitting two little boys.”

Grossman co-founded Grossman co-founded the Grossman Burn Foundation together and her partner the Dr. Peter H. Grossman. The foundation’s philanthropic mission is an part from the Grossman Burn Centers. It is the Grossman Burn Center was founded by Dr. A. Richard Grossman Peter Grossman’s father.

Allen Castellano, chief of the county sheriff’s North Patrol Division, said in an announcement that he was hoping that the sentence would bring the family some relief.

“This individual showed a complete disregard for the lives and safety of others in our community through her reckless actions, which ultimately shattered a family and robbed two children of their bright futures,” he added.
