Celine Dion’s performance on the Eiffel Tower at the 2024 Olympic Opening Ceremony Friday’s performance is evidence that the heart will continue to go forward.

Dion who hasn’t performed since the year 2020 due to her struggle with stiff-person’s syndrome stunned the world when she announced the triumphant return of her to the stage.

“The “Power of Love” singer sang “Hymne a l’amour” by the French singer Edith Piaf from the base of the Eiffel Tower, in an instant iconic moment.

Celine Dion, the Grammy-winning performer recently revealed her struggle of stiff-person syndrome on her Amazon Prime Video documentary, “I Am: Celine Dion,” in which it was discovered that the 56-year-old French-Canadian nearly passed away from the condition.

In the film, Dion declares that she’s seen significant improvement since her initial days of diagnosis and that returning to singing and performing has been her primary motivation for beating her illness.

“It’s not hard to do a show now, it’s hard to cancel a show,” Dion declared. “I’m working hard every day, but I have to admit — it’s been a struggle. I miss it so much. The people. I miss them. If I can’t run, I’ll walk. If I can’t walk. I’ll crawl. I won’t stop.”

Other performers at Friday’s opening Ceremony include Lady Gaga and French-Malian pop star Aya Nakamura.

The performance of Dion was the culmination at her performance at the Opening Ceremony and the beginning of the Olympic Games, and it could be the beginning of a comeback in music too.
