Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler off of the UFC 303 card due to an injury
Conor McGregor’s return to the octagon will have to wait.

UFC announced Thursday that its fight with Michael Chandler will no longer feature in UFC 303 at Las Vegas on June 29 due to injury.
Champion of light heavyweight Alex Pereira will defend his belt against Jiri Prochazka in the upcoming main fight, UFC CEO Dana White announced in a post posted on Twitter.
McGregor’s debut fight since July 2021 in which he was defeated by a first-round TKO to Dustin Pouirier at UFC 264. McGregor fractured the tibia of his left leg during the fight which rendered him ineligible to fight again. It required surgery, and months of rehabilitation.
McGregor was a former lightweight and featherweight champion, has only one victory -the first round TKO against Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 in just eight years.
McGregor A flamboyant Irishman who is known for his personality outside of the cage as for his expertise displayed in the ring, has been without doubt the most popular star in the history of mixed martial arts. McGregor has dominated the five top-selling pay-per view UFC events ever as well as his bout against Dagestani famous Khabib Nurmagomedov on October 18, 2018 that attracted 2.4 million viewers.
He also took on legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather in the ring in August 2017. The fight drew 4.3 million PPVs, one of the highest ever for the event of a sporting match.
Chandler is who was a former UFC lightweight title contender, and longtime Bellator champion, hasn’t had a fight since November 20, 2022. He hopes to fight McGregor. He’s averaging a 2-2 record over five UFC fights, and has earned post-fight bonuses for his performance in four of those fights.
It’s unclear if the game will be rescheduled.
