The Indiana Fever improved to 1-5 after a 78-73 win on the road against the Los Angeles Sparks are coming off their first victory of the season as they take on the defending WNBA champions.

Caitlin Clark scored a last-minute 3 pointer against LA to assist the Fever win their first game this season. Today, Indiana is on the road to face the defending WNBA champions, the Las Vegas Aces.

The Final Las Vegas Aces too much for Indiana Fever

Indiana seemed to be a solid team early on However, the reigning WNBA champions proved too much at the final.

The Fever were led by Kelsey Mitchell’s points of 16. Indiana scored 43 percent in the paint. Las Vegas was at 48%.

Las Vegas has outscored Indiana in the fourth quarter, 13-8. Kelsey Mitchell leads the Fever with 16 points, while Aliyah Boston scores 12 points.

It’s clear that A’Ja is suffering his Fever during the 3rd quarter. Wilson scored 16 points in the third quarter and has 27 points in the game.

Kelsey Mitchell hit a 3-pointer to cut Las Vegas’ lead to 10 points. Alysha Clark pushed their lead by 12 by making a an uncontested shot at 2:07. Clark scored a three in 1:34 to the Aces. Las Vegas is up 71-56 which would be Las Vegas’ largest lead in the game.

Las Vegas outscored Indiana in the third quarter by 26-18.

Kelsey Mitchell opened the second half by scoring an easy jumper. Caitlin Clark followed by scoring a 3-pointer in the 9:13 mark to bring Indiana to within three. In the ensuing five minutes, A’Ja scored his fifth straight points after that. Mitchell hit a 3 at 8:04. Wilson added 5 more points to lead Las Vegas. Katie Lou Samuelson made a 3 too.

Aces were on an 10-0 streak. Aliyah Boston scored in the final 41 second remaining in the game, slowing Las Vegas a tad. Boston is leading Indiana by scoring 10 points, and 5 rebound.

Jackie Young hit a 3-pointer for Las Vegas coming out of the timeout. Aliyah Boston followed by a 14-foot jumper. The Aces were to a 7-0 streak after that to take an advantage of 36-34. Boston did a layup around 4:16 to tie the game. She’s scored eight points.

Alysha Clark scored a three-pointer to lead the Aces at 3:43 for the lead 39-36. A’Ja Wilson boosted the lead at 2:56 after a layup.

Kelsey Plum opened the quarter by scoring a shot from four feet at 9:30. Indiana was on an 4-0 run, aided by back-to-back free-throws from Caitlin Clark, and an assist from NaLyssa Smith.

The Fever and Aces exchanged baskets. Aliyah Boston hit an overhead hook shot at 2:52. Then, NaLyssa Smith made a jumper. Lexie Hull nailed a 3-pointer to give the Fever an advantage of 22-20 at 2:14. Kelsey Plum tied it up by scoring a layup just before 12:30.

Smith along with Temi Fagbenle scored back-toback baskets for Indiana.

4.40: 1Q left: Fever hang on to Aces in the beginning

A’Ja Wilson, 2023’s WNBA Finals MVP was the first player to score points by an ace jumper. Aliyah Boston reacted for Indiana by scoring a jumper that she scored her own. Las Vegas started the game on a 7-6 streak. Temi Fagbenle was the only player to score four points in the span of time in the Fever.

After that, Jackie Young scored four consecutive scores (all of which were free throws made by Jackie Young). Kelsey Mitchell stopped the run by laying up at 6:45. Wilson was quick to respond by jumping 15 feet.

At 5:57, Mitchell drilled a 3-pointer. In less than 30 seconds, Caitlin Clark hit a 3-pointer of her own, giving the Fever an advantage of 14-13. Kelsey Plum answered with a 3-pointer for the Aces.
