Even though The Acolyte is reviewing adequately it’s not as great as Ahsoka maybe however, not as good like Andor or the Mandalorian. Mandalorian and Andor I walked out of the show not really enjoying the main premise.
This isn’t a spoiler as two TV spots as well as an interview of the actor herself have confirmed before the show came out. Amandla Stenberg will play twins who are force-powered in the show. This is what she told Electric Playground: Electric Playground:
“I as twins on the show. The names of the twins are Osha as well as Mae and they have a tendency to go in different directions that the power. However, that’s up to debate, and there should be one once everyone has the chance to watch the show. Mae embarks on a mission to get her revenge. She’s on the offensive. A tragic incident that occurred during their childhood split the twins, and now Mae is seeking revenge. Osha is a mechanic who was once a member in the Jedi order, but resigned as a padawan. She is accused of the retribution which is taking place. She has to defend herself while realizing the fact that she has a twin. alive.”
I…don’t enjoy it at all so far. I don’t think it went well in the initial two episodes I’m still not sure what my feelings are about how it will play out as time goes on However, I guess I’ll give it another chance.
There are some issues there. The show attempts to make an “gotcha” during the very first episode, by using Mae hunt and kill the character of Jedi (Carrie-Anne Moss who should have flashbacks in case she be completely wasted). Then, we witness an unassuming, sly Osha as we move to the second scene. She is detained for the crime, and the entire audience is puzzled that the twin sister who thought she was dead actually is alive, and is currently is on the hunt for Jedi. It’s an uninspiring trick of an opening.

A minor issue that frustrates me, and yet it appears like it’s bent over to achieve this idea and that’s the fact that both sisters sport the same hairstyles, with the red braids are arranged in a similar way (Mae’s is longer on to the side, I guess). When I saw the video I thought “oh it could be that Mae is attempting to disguise herself as Osha for a reason” however, it’s revealed that Mae doesn’t even know Osha is alive. Yet, she has the same hairstyle, adding to the confusion as well as the trick that everybody believes Osha is the one who killed her. It also helps by changing clothes while shooting…
I also hope that the story isn’t drawing an unidirectional path to precisely where I believe it’s heading, and that’s:
- The four Jedi being pursued including her master, share some responsibility to the house fire, which destroyed their family members and shattered two sisters. They may have deliberately left Mae for dead, believing she was evil because she started the fire, and then saving her sister.
- Osha eventually persuades Mae to change her mind from the dark side, so that they can become sisters again (especially because so much of it is a blatant an act of revenge against a sibling she believes is dead? ).
It’s only 2 episodes. I believe that things will improve from here on out, as I wasn’t awestruck with the double debut and the second one is a bit gruelling and forced for me. However, we’ll have to check out the outcome.
