Bollywood celebrities, including Kiara Advani , Swara Bhasker, Richa Chadha, Ali Fazal, Radhika Apte, Anurag Kashyap, and Bhumi Pednekar, among others, congratulated Payal Kapadia after she won the Grand Prix award at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival for her drama All We Imagine as Light. It was the first Indian film in three decades and the first by an Indian woman director to grace the festival’s main competition. Kiara, Bhumi, Swara, Radhika laud All We Imagine as Light
In the platform of Instagram Stories on the platform, Kiara published a story in celebration of the Festival de Cannes. She wrote “Congratulations (trophy and red heart emojis).” Bhumi Pednekar shared MAMI Mumbai Film Festival’s message in the Instagram Stories. She just wrote “Bravo (clapping hands emoji).” In Instagram Stories, Radhika Apte wrote: “Bravo (clapping hands e Instagram Stories Radhika Apte posted, “Huge congratulations to the stunning and amazing people behind this film! It’s just amazing.” Sharing a post, Swara Bhasker wrote via her Instagram, “Amazing!”

On Instagram, Farhan Akhtar wrote, “Heartiest congratulations #PayalKapadia and team #allweimagineaslight .. first Indian film to win the Cannes Grand Prix.” The poster was also shared for the movie. Mammootty shared a tweet, “Making Indian Cinema Proud. This is an incredible feat. Thank you on Payal Kapadia, Kani Kusruthi, Divya Prabha, Chhaya Kadam and the entire team from All We Imagine as Light.”
Aditi Rao Hydari posted a long message to Instagram, “At a very confusing time in the history of which all the noise of my amazing county seems to be amplified, here is an independent film from an unexperienced director who wins the Grand Prix honour at @festivaldecannes. Please pause for a moment and allow us to all stand up and be awed by this incredible accomplishment. It is the ultimate prize of the fight for better cinema in India. It could occur again but it won’t be in the absence of #Payalkapadia’s stunning accomplishment. We are so happy, and thankful. I wish my congratulations and love to all the team! India in all her glory, on her personal conditions… Wow! What an amazing moment!”
Tovino Thomas also wrote a post on Instagram. “Wow!! What an amazing achievement in Indian cinema! “All We Imagine As Light’ scripts the history of and is the an unprecedented Indian film to receive Grand Prix at Cannes Film Festival. “Take your bow! !”
Shekhar Kapur tweeted “Payal Kapadia’s film ‘ll we imagine’ is light’ was awarded the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival! .. What a great honor to her, her crew and. It appears to be the year of India at Cannes. This is the third however, the most prestigious award for Indian Cinema this year.”
