NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE (JUNE 29, 2024) – Nashville Soccer Club fell 2-1 to Inter Miami CF in the first Major League Soccer match. Hany Mukhtar’s goal, which saw him become the sixth player in Major League Soccer history to score 100 goals, was not enough.

NASHVILLE (June 29, 2024) – Nashville Soccer Club lost 2-1 to Inter Miami CF, despite a goal by Hany Mukhtar. The midfielder became the sixth player to reach 100 goals in Major League Soccer’s history over a period of four years.
Mukhtar magic: Hany Mukhtar became the sixth player in MLS’s history to score 100 goals (59 goals and 41 assists). Mukhtar leads Nashville SC with 12 MLS goals this season (5 goals and seven assists).
Forster Ajago, of Nashville SC, played in his third match consecutively on Saturday night. Ajago played 33 minutes of MLS record time, including 10 additional minutes.
Shorthanded The two Nashville SC regulars who were not available against Miami due to international duty in the Conmebol Copa America ™ group stage: Jacob Shaffelburg and Shaq Moore. Shaffelburg started for Canada Saturday night, logging 65 minutes in the team’s Quarterfinal-clinching scoreless draw with Chile. Moore and the United States will play against Uruguay again on Monday, July 1st at 8 pm CT.
Nashville SC will play two matches on the road in only four days. The Boys in Gold will play their first match on Wednesday, July 3 at Columbus Crew, the defending MLS Cup Champions, at 5:30 p.m. CT. The Portland Timbers will play the Boys in Gold at 9:30 pm CT.
