WASHINGTON today, July 22,. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) today released the following statement ahead of Netanyahu’s speech by the Prime Premier Benjamin Trumpet to a joint session of Congress this week:

As I mentioned in my last blog post, which I wrote earlier in the month I’ll not be attending the speech delivered by Benjamin Netanyahu to Congress on Wednesday.

I agree with both the prosecutor from the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the United Nations independent commission that both Benjamin Netanyahu and Yahya Sinwar are war criminals. Hamas under the leadership of Yahya Sinwar began the war by launching an extremely violent attack against Israel which killed more than 1200 innocent men, women and children. They also held more than 250 prisoners.

After the conflict, Netanyahu and his right-wing extreme government have waged continuous conflict in the face of the Palestinian population, killing more than 39,000 Palestinians and injured 89,000 sixty percent of whom are children or women. The remaining are people of older age. In addition, Netanyahu’s Netanyahu regime has destroyed living conditions miserable in Gaza through the destruction of the infrastructure of homes, houses, and as the healthcare system. Every university was hit with 88 percent of school buildings destroyed. At present circumstances, because of the limitations on aid to the humanitarian sector, 495,000 people are suffering from extreme food insecurity. That is to say, they’re suffering from hunger.

There is no need to. Netanyahu shouldn’t be welcomed to Congress. United States Congress.
