With Dillon in the hospital due to a neck injury the Packers running back room on cutdown days is home to the starting Josh Jacobs , rookie third-rounder MarShawn Lloyd who has suffering from hip and hamstring injuries during the season — as well as Emanuel Wilson . The team also cut ties in the backfield with Ellis Merriweather and Nate McCrary .

Jacobs was a significant free-agent addition to the team, Lloyd has plenty of potential, and Wilson has been successful during the preseason. It’s certainly not impossible to the Packers to acquire an additional back or two this week of.

The bruised Dillon ran for 613 yards and two touchdowns over 15 games in the last season. He did not participate in the season’s final game and neither of the Packers playoff games following suffering a neck sting on the 17th of November. The odds were not in his favor that he’d be back with the Pack however, Green Bay used a unusual four-year qualifying option for Dillon to keep his services.

However, Dillon’s prospects beyond this season could be in doubt due to the neck injury he suffered at the age of 26.
