Pekingese is called Wild Thang was crowned the World’s Most Ugly Dog
The World’s Ugliest Dog competition is held each year at the Sonoma-Marin fair in Petaluma.
Wild Thang, this year’s winner, has been in second spot in the contest three times in the past.
The appearance of dogs is marked by a snarling tongue and hair that isn’t in order.
He was raised and born within Los Angeles until recently moving to Oregon with his owner Ann Lewis.
The couple and their owner received the highest prize, a check for $5,000.
In Wild Thang’s biography Wild Thang’s bio, he was diagnosed with distemper when he was puppy from a foster carer that resulted in his tongue starting to protrude.
Despite his physical ailments Wild Thang’s owner has said he’s healthy and happy.
The World’s Ugliest Dog contest has been a major attraction during the fair for nearly 50 years.
It encourages the adoption of dogs particularly senior dogs by shelters, instead of breeders.
