Back Again. Guess Who’s Back?

How To Watch

Saturday Night Live Saturdays, 11:30/10.30c on NBCPeacock the next day.

Eminem (born Marshall Mathers) has released the music video “Houdini”, the first single from his upcoming The Death of Slim Shady album. The video features cameos by Snoop Dogg and Pete Davidson as well as Shane Gillis, February 24 Saturday Night Live host.

“Houdini”, which samples Steve Miller Band’s 1982 song “Abracadabra”, is a throwback to Eminem 2002 classic video “Without Me”. It opens with the exact same lyrics, “Guess Who’s Back, Back Again/Shady is back, Tell a Friend,” which will make any millennial jump out of bed like a sleeper agent.

In the video, Slim Shady from 2002 is shown stepping into 2024. A young Slim Shady wanders around the city and is appalled at the modern gadgets such as selfie sticks and VR helmets.

The rapper has released his first album since Music To Be Murdered by in 2020.

Dr. Dre who signed Eminem in 1998, and appeared in the “Without Me”, video, calls him in 2024, telling him “We have a problem. Check this out. Get down here.

The video shows comic book panels with some famous faces, like 50 Cent and The Voice coach Snoop Dogg, as they sing to the catchy refrain: “Guess Who’s Back?

Eminem slips into his superhero alter-ego Rapboy and rejoins Dr. Dre. They cruise the city looking for Slim Shady. He is still unimpressed by the state of modern society. In fact, he even interrupted a recording of Shane Gillis’ podcast and trashed the studio in frustration.

Rapboy, 2002 Slim Shady and Eminem merge together to create an “unholy hybrid”. Eminem’s hair is bleached blonde in the video, as it spreads throughout the city.

Eminem rejoins Dre and their car. But the rapper of “Let Me Ride,” Eminem, raps insults to Dre, James Iovine (former Beats Electronics CEO and former record executive) and even his children.

Eminem, who is blonde, just like his Slim Shady clones, finds himself without a driver for a moment. Then, Pete Davidson makes a brief cameo.

“Trust Me, I’m a Great Driver.” “Don’t worry. I just got back my license,” says Davidson, as he jumps behind the wheels. At the end of the video, Eminem, Davidson, and other cars are seen driving through the streets.

Perhaps this is the Bupkis actor getting revenge for Eminem’s crash of his final Saturday Night Live, where Davidson was begging him to “please stop”, doing his Eminem-parodies.
