Reggaeton artist Don Omar reveals he has cancer ahead of upcoming tour dates

The Puerto Rican singer captioned the post in Spanish in which he said the caption reads “tomorrow” he will be cancer-free.

Reggaeton star Don Omar revealed he has cancer Monday in an Instagram post with a photo of what appears to be him wearing a hospital bracelet.

Omar who is originally from Puerto Rico, captioned the post in Spanish and said it was “tomorrow” he will be cancer-free. There was no additional information regarding his treatment or diagnosis.

“Good intentions are well received,” the writer wrote according to the translation. “See you all soon.”

The message was shared just minutes after Omar uploaded his audition video dancers to be part of the second phase in his Back to Reggaeton tour. The shows are scheduled to resume in August, beginning with a performance at Oakland, California.

Omar, his true persona was William Omar Landron Rivera, became popular during the 2000s. The singer has put out eight studio albums in the last year. He has been awarded two Latin Grammy awards out of 13 nominations.

The singer also enjoyed a lengthy period of in a heated feud with fellow musician Daddy Yankee, despite having performed and collaborated at the beginning of their careers. The two singers shared that they had buried the hatchet on distinct Instagram postings in the month of December as per Billboard.

“I wish you the best for you and your family,” Omar wrote. “Thank you for your competitiveness and admirable discipline but even more thank you for what you did for our music.”
