“There’s two options that we’re looking at and one is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and Walz presidency because we draw votes from Trump, we draw somehow more votes from Trump. Or we walk away right now and join forces with Donald Trump and, you know, we walk away from that and explain to our base why we’re making this decision,” she added.
“Not an easy decision,” Shanahan said.
The Washington Post reported earlier in the month, that Kennedy Jr. reached out to Harris the group to talk about the possibilities of working in the next Cabinet. However, Harris rejected the claim at an earlier town hall livestream event.
“That’s fake news,” he declared last week, adding “I didn’t ask Kamala Harris for a Cabinet position, but I’ve reached out to all the candidates. I’ve met with some.”
Shanahan denied the claim on the podcast too and said, “Those are the MSN [mainstream news] just taking something and spinning in a way that makes, you know, their chosen political group look good. Fake news.”
The Harris campaign did not respond immediately to Fox News Digital’s request for comments. When asked for clarification on the matter, the Trump campaign referred to the interview that the former President had in a Tuesday interview with CNN in which he described Kennedy Jr. “a very smart guy.”
