The 2024 BET Awards were held on Sunday 30th June. The 2024 BET Awards took place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Taraji Henson was the host for the third time in a row.

Usher won the award for best male R&B/Pop Artist for a 5th time. A lifetime achievement was also given to him. This was Usher’s night. He had both a major honor and an end-of-career honor.

Usher had an amazing year. Usher had a great year. Usher has only had seven Hot 100 songs that have spent this many weeks.

SZA won the award for best female R&B/pop artist for the second year in a row. This is her first time winning back-to-back. Beyonce won six years in a row from 2014-19. SZA, who released “Saturn” in December 2022 kept her at the top despite not having released an album since SOS.

The award for the best international act was a foregone conclusion. South African singer Tyla had a phenomenal year.

Do not think that the entire four-hour show was predictable. You’ll find some surprises and snubs scattered throughout. Take a look.
