St. Louis CITY SC Signs Academy Forward Mykhi Joyner to MLS Homegrown Deal

Joyner was contracted to his MLS NEXT Pro contract through the end of 2024 season.

Joyner has been placed currently under the MLS NEXT Pro contract through the year 2024’s end.

St. Louis CITY SC has hired Academy forward Mykhi Joyner as a Player Homegrown. Joyner is member of the MLS NEXT Pro deal through the 2024 season’s last stretch. He’ll be an MLS Homegrown until 2028, with the option of joining that team by 2029. Joyner will be joining Caden Glover, Miguel Perez and Tyson Pearce as the club’s Homegrown signings.

City SC has signed Joyner to an agreement for a temporary loan from their MLS Next Pro Team St Louis CITY2. Joyner is prepared to play in Wednesday’s MLS match against Seattle Sounders FC at 9:30 p.m. CT at Lumen Field.

Seeing Mykhi move up to the first team is an affirmation of his dedication and effort he’s done since joining the team in 2022. “

Joyner is had an outstanding time at CITY2’s MLS NEXT Pro level and has helped CITY2 rise to into the top of the MLS NEXT Pro Western Conference table with an 11-3-3 performance. In 14 games, Joyner leads CITY2 in goals scored with nine, and also has had the most assists.

Joyner made his debut goal during a pro match in the CITY2’s MLS to CITY2 in the first game during the MLS NEXT Pro debut against Tacoma Defiance in the team’s first home game of the earlier seasons. Joyner has scored 2 goals, and also had one assist. Bloomington, Illinois native scored two goals and one assist in the finale game in LAFC 2 placing Joyner second in the Golden Boot race. Just 17, Joyner has amassed 27 games and scored 10 goals, and having assistance for CITY2.

The deal: St. Louis CITY SC has signed academy forward Mykhi Joyner to an MLS Homegrown contract. Joyner was signed on his MLS NEXT Pro deal through the 2024 season’s last stretch. After that, he’ll take up the MLS Homegrown through 2028 with the option of signing the club’s contract in 2029.
