Xbox Games Showcase Reveals ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’ Release Date, ‘Gears of War: E-Day,’ ‘Doom’ Prequel, ‘Fable’ Reboot and More

Xbox Games Showcase launched on Sunday with the announcement that ” Call of Duty: Black Ops 6″ will be released on October. 25 and will be available Day 1 on the premium Xbox Game Pass subscription.

The first gameplay video taken from the announced “Call of Duty” game was released by Xbox Chief Phil Spencer from the event that took place on the David Geffen Theater in Los Angeles.

Other games revealed during the presentation included “Gears of War: E-Day,” “Doom” prequel “Doom: The Dark Ages” and an update from”Fable,” the “Fable” franchise, the sequels to be released in 2025.

In the wake of the popularity in the Amazon Prime Video’s ” Fallout” TV series, Xbox announced a new expansion update for Bethesda Studios’ “Fallout 76,” due out on the 12th of June, titled “Skyline Valley.” In the new game, “Fallout” fans will finally be able to play the ghoulish character.

Other news from Xbox Games Showcase 2024 also included updates for “Avowed,” “State of Decay 3,” EA and Bioware’s “Dragon Age: The Veilguard,” “Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred,” “Starfield: Shattered Space,” “South of Midnight,” “Atomfall,” “World of Warcraft: The War Within,” Konami’s “Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater” remake, “Winter Burrow,” “Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024,” extended footage from “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” as well as other brand new games, along with release dates.

The main theme of this Showcase show was date and time of availability of the new games in Game Pass, marking a massive effort by Microsoft Gaming to please its customers who subscribe to its service by not having them wait for new games to be added to the subscription service.

In the two-hour program, Xbox President Sarah Bond also revealed the digital-only models of Xbox Series X and S are coming out during the holiday season. She also revealed they are developing its “next generation” of consoles. Xbox’s Series consoles will launched at the end of November in 2020. which is the same month that the PlayStation 5 console launched.

The Xbox Games Showcase was held on the day of Summer Game Fest, two days after the festival’s main event on SoFi Stadium. YouTube Theater at SoFi Stadium in which the first look at Warner Bros. Games’ “Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions,” PlayStation’s “Lego Horizon Adventures” and more were announced.
